What If Trump Ends Up Supporting the Ukrainians More Than Ever?
Trump might end up flooding Ukraine with weapons far more than Biden ever did. A twist no one expects.
So, here’s the point:
🇺🇸 There’s a “risk” that, in the end, Trump might get tired of trying to mediate with Putin and could end up helping the Ukrainians militarily even more than the old Biden administration ever did.
Or maybe not?
🇷🇺 The Russians can’t stop.
Think about it: what would they gain?
After all these years, all the money and lives spent—would they stop now, just to bring home… what, exactly?
Out of the four oblasts, they haven’t even fully conquered one.
Even if progress is slow, they’re still managing to make some small advances, so it hasn’t all been for nothing.
🇺🇸 Donald Trump has been trying to mediate and find a solution for over three months now.
🇺🇦 After that heated argument at the White House between Trump and Zelensky, everyone was convinced the two would never come to an agreement again and that Ukraine would be left to fend for itself.
Yet, a few weeks later, at Pope Francis’s funeral, the two started talking again, while on social media Trump expressed annoyance at Putin’s behavior.
🇷🇺 Have you ever come across theories on social media claiming that Trump is a Russian agent?
🇺🇸 Yet, day by day, Trump’s stance on this war seems to be changing more and more.
We don’t know where the truth lies, nor what’s really going on in the minds of Zelensky, Trump, and Putin, but we can make some assumptions.
🇺🇦 The first thing I feel confident in saying is that Ukraine will never be abandoned by the Americans, as it is serving as a stronghold for the defense of all of Europe.
And the Americans can’t afford to lose Europe.
There are too many NATO and U.S. bases being used, which are crucial for controlling the lands and the oceans.
But there would be an even greater loss: credibility.
🇺🇸 The United States shouldn’t just be seen as a country, but as an empire.
🇪🇺 And this empire consists not only of the national territory but also of allied countries, like Europe, Japan, Korea, and many others.
🇺🇸 The empire cannot afford to lose credibility in the eyes of its allies: abandoning Ukraine would generate fear among other allies and prompt strategic reconsiderations, which, unfortunately, is already partially happening… but we’ll discuss that another time.
🇷🇺 There are many theories going around, and one of them is that Trump is intentionally making concessions to the Russians—like the oblast of Kursk—to encourage them to stop, and that, after their refusal, Trump, annoyed, would have the perfect excuse to continue helping the Ukrainians, without upsetting his voters, who, as we know, absolutely do not want to keep financing this war.
I’ve been hearing this strategy since at least November, when Trump won the elections, and so far, it seems to be materializing day by day.
Over these months, I’ve often wondered what the true strategy is and what Trump’s plan really is.
🇺🇸 If that’s the case, Trump would prove to be a master strategist.
Let’s assume for a moment that this is the strategy and that things continue to move in this direction.
At this point, we’d have to ask ourselves what the new objectives might be.
🇺🇦 I think we can safely assume now that the Ukrainian territories occupied by the Russians will never be reclaimed, or at least, I find it hard to imagine an Ukraine capable of pushing the occupiers back.
What could the new goals be?
Probably continuing with a slow and painful war of attrition, which would force the Russians to continuously expend a multitude of resources trying to conquer some small town.
The Ukrainians, I believe, would be okay with that: they’d continue receiving weapons, training, and integration into NATO and European systems.
Let’s make another hypothesis:
🇷🇺 Maybe, in these months, Trump has genuinely and in good faith tried to mediate with Putin, something he hasn’t succeeded in so far.
What would happen if he kept failing? How long would he continue to let Putin fool him?
And then what would he do?
In this case, he would have no choice but to keep funding Ukraine.
Which he has already started doing. Here’s the latest news:
WASHINGTON, May 2 (Reuters) - The U.S. State Department has approved the potential sale of F-16 training and sustainment, along with related equipment, to Ukraine for $310 million, the Pentagon said on Friday.
What do I expect for the future?
🇺🇦 Nothing good, for sure: Ukraine continues to be bombed every day.
But if Trump and Putin can’t agree (which I find unlikely, since it doesn’t benefit the Russians to stop), I suppose Trump will start financing the Ukrainians more and more, prolonging this long and painful war, which, as I’ve written in this article, is only bringing us benefits…
